We are open every Wednesday and the 1st Sunday each month – 9.30am to 3.30pm for walk-in visitors.
1st May – Open 0930-1530
5th June – CLOSED to allow our volunteers time to spend with their families over the Platinum Jubilee weekend
3rd July – Open 0930-1530
31st July – Open 0930-1530 for the Minden Day celebrations
7th August – Open 0930-1530
4th September – Open 0930-1530
2nd October – Open 0930-1530
6th November – Open 0930-1530
4th December – Open 0930-1530

Although it is no longer mandatory to wear face coverings, we encourage all of our visitors and staff to do so unless exempt, especially at busy periods. We also encourage social distancing within the Museum.
The Museum is located on Out Risbygate (A1302), the road leading from the A14 (first exit eastbound/third exit westbound for Bury St Edmunds) into Bury town centre.
The Museum is open on every Wednesday and the first Sunday in the month from 9.30 to 3.30 and at other times by appointment.
Admission is FREE
Group visits are welcome, by prior arrangement, at weekends or evenings.
There is limited free visitor parking available at the back of the building.
Disabled toilets.
There is wheelchair access to the ground floor displays (medals collection, ‘Afghanistan Then and Now’ display and the Malaya case) and the disabled toilet.
There is at present no wheelchair access to the main gallery on the first floor.
