MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Merry Christmas to all of our followers! Our Trustees, Staff and Volunteers wish you all well for the forthcoming festive season.

The Museum will be closing to the public for the Christmas break at 3.30pm on Wednesday 15th December 2021 and will reopen at 9.30am on Wednesday 5th January 2022. This means we will be closed on the first Sunday in January (2nd) to allow our volunteers extra time with their families. E-mails will not be monitored between Friday 17th December 2021 and Tuesday 4th January 2022.

UPDATED INFORMATION REGARDING CORONAVIRUS

Although it is not mandatory to wear face coverings in museums, we encourage all of our visitors and staff to do so unless exempt.

The Museum is free to enter, but we welcome donations. For large group visits or appointments to speak with our Curator, please continue to book in advance so that we can allow for social distancing within the Museum.

LOCATION

The Museum is located on Out Risbygate (A1302), the road leading from the A14 (first exit eastbound/third exit westbound for Bury St Edmunds) into Bury town centre.

OPENING HOURS

The Museum is open on every Wednesday and the first Sunday in the month from 9.30 to 3.30 and at other times by appointment.

ADMISSION

Admission is FREE

Group visits are welcome, by prior arrangement, at weekends or evenings.

PARKING

There is limited free visitor parking available at the back of the building.

TOILETS

Disabled toilets.

ACCESS

There is wheelchair access to the ground floor displays (medals collection, ‘Afghanistan Then and Now’ display and the Malaya case) and the disabled toilet.

There is at present no wheelchair access to the main gallery on the first floor.
